Premier Piano Course Performance Book 2B – Book & Online Audio (Alfred)

Description

Premier Piano Course Performance Book 2B is the companion repertoire book to Lesson Book 2B in Alfred’s Premier Piano Course. Written by Dennis Alexander, Gayle Kowalchyk, E. L. Lancaster, Victoria McArthur, and Martha Mier, this collection reinforces the technical and reading concepts introduced in the lesson book through engaging, performance-ready pieces. At this stage, students are moving beyond basic five-finger positions and starting to connect technique with musical expression. The pieces in Book 2B give them that opportunity. Styles include boogie, ragtime, jazz, flamenco, and contemporary sounds, giving students variety without overwhelming their reading level. This book works best when used alongside the Premier Piano Course Lesson Book 2B. Teachers appreciate that the repertoire directly supports the concepts being taught each week, rather than introducing unrelated material. It keeps lessons organized and gives students polished pieces they can prepare for recitals, festivals, or evaluations. The included online audio is especially helpful at this level. Students can hear each piece performed at a full tempo and at a slower practice tempo. That makes a difference at home when they’re working through new rhythms or coordinating hands together. We often recommend this book for: Students currently in Premier Piano Course Lesson Book 2B Teachers who want stylistically varied recital pieces Families who benefit from guided practice recordings Students who need structured performance material instead of random supplements If you’re unsure whether your student is in 2A or 2B, bring your lesson book by Chesbro Music. We’ll help you make sure you’re purchasing the correct level.
