Golden Gate Compensated 5-String Banjo Bridge – GB-5

Description

Eliminate nagging tuning issues and breath new life into your instrument with the Golden Gate GB-5 Compensated 5-String Banjo Bridge. Whether you are performing a vintage restoration or upgrading a modern banjo, this professional-grade component provides the ultimate layout for precise intonation. Standard straight bridges often fall victim to poor intonation—causing strings, particularly the third string, to sound sharp when fretting higher up the neck. The GB-5 features a meticulously engineered stair-step, compensated top design. This structural offset slightly alters the scale length for individual strings, ensuring pristine note accuracy across every single fret. Crafted from a dense, well-seasoned, close-grained hard-rock maple base, it delivers exceptional stability and clear acoustic tone transmission directly to your banjo head. The base is seamlessly married to a long-wearing, notched ebony overlay that provides crisp articulation while resisting deeper groove wear from continuous playing pressure. Key Benefits Flawless Intonation: Compensated “stair-step” shape keeps your notes perfectly in tune past the 12th fret. Enhanced Tonal Clarity: Premium maple and ebony woods convert dull acoustics into bright, punchy, and vibrant tones. Drop-In Fit: Standard dimensions ensure universal compatibility with almost all modern 5-string models. Pre-Notched Setup: Arrives with pre-cut string slots to minimize installation headaches and save setup time.
